Zechariah accepts the call as shepherd of the people. Zechariah rejects the false shepherds and becomes the martyr as Christ is. Spirit of grace will come when they look upon Jesus whom they have pierced. God's people will seek him for mercy. We will mourn as we acknowledge the grief of piercing the only son of God and will show us what Christ sacrifice cost the Father. This should move us to hate sin further and pursue righteousness even more. The fountain will cleanse and we look to Jesus to cleanse the house of David from guilt of sin as he is no longer on the tree but risen. He will judge the false prophets but refine the redeemed as silver for the sake of the covenant
