Transcript of the segment on Jesus Died for Me: I think many Christians, myself included, need to be reminded today, to take time to take a close look at the cross; to be reminded that Jesus died for me. I want to take it personally. I don’t want to just tokenly acknowledge some doctrinal statement that is preached from a pulpit. Jesus died for me. I want to know that again and again and again. The first and most critical lesson we get from the cross, when we look to that cross and we understand who he is and what he has done for us, is the quality of humility. When you look at the cross, you are broken. when you really look at the cross and see the price that was paid ….(break at 50:41) ………. “consider your calling.” That means to really pause and give reflection on who you really are. Not many of you were noble or wise or powerful or worthy of consideration. Most of you were looked down on by society, anyway. God chose the weak and foolish to show his strength and power. Who do you think you are? ‘Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord’ who had mercy on you.
