James W. Alexander was a Presbyterian minister in New York city and died in 1859. I believe he saw some of the revival of that same year.
CORRECTION: I mention in the opening of this meeting that J. W. Alexander wrote "Thoughts on Religious Experience", that is a mistake. Archibald Alexander wrote that one. He wrote other books such as "Remember Him" and "God is Love" both on the Lord's Supper and they are good.
