God spoke of David as a “man after my own heart.” David sought after God, was obedient to God, spoke with God, was lead by God, was appointed King of Israel by God. Even though David was not perfect and sinned grievously, he repented, confessing his sin to God, and received forgiveness. As the Psalmist, David brings us to the very throne of worship of God and has inspired God's people ever since. This sermon will explore the friendship that David enjoyed early in life with God and with Jonathan, the Crown Prince of King Saul who had purposed and attempted to kill David. The qualities of that friendship are examined for they teach much about true friendship with God and with Man.
