The topic of Post-Modernism is not usually a familiar one to most Christian believers. It does not have its origin in the Christian church but nevertheless it has entered the culture, the church and individual Christian thinking to the extent that it has become a highly significant factor in the world today. This has occurred slowly and subtly without sufficient awareness on the part of Christians. We have been exploring Post Modernism in this age, generally, and now its entry into the Church in particular. We have introduced the “Emerging Church” where Post-Modern thinking not only denies the clear teaching of Scripture but the message of Jesus and the Gospel itself. Tonight's session explores the meaning of “community,” or “church life,” as an essential agent of perceiving truth in the Emergent Church. Community is an essential element of the “conversation” which is said to lead to truth
A Course Notebook is being developed concurrently with this series on “Worldviews in Collision – Post Modernism vs Christianity.” It will be offered at the conclusion of the course at a nominal charge on request.
