On the program today I will be joined by Dr. Mark Allison pastor of the Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern PA. Dr. Allison is also involved in the FPC Missionary Work in Liberia. That work has involved planting four churches and two Christian schools in the Monrovia area.
A recent news update from the FP Mission Board read: 'Many of you will have been following the news about the spread of Ebola in West Africa, especially in Monrovia, Liberia, and have asked regarding the situation concerning our missionaries. On Tuesday, July 29, our Mission Board took the decision that it would be prudent to bring our missionaries home for a few months to remove them from the situation. It was noted on Sunday that doctors and nurses in several countries are being infected. A doctor and nurse laboring at ELWA (15 minutes from our mission compound) are among those recently infected. When those who are taking extreme precautions are coming down with Ebola, the Mission Board feels it is best to remove our missionaries far from the danger'
On the program today, I will ask Dr. Allison to more specifically speak about the work in that region and also ask him to comment on a recent article written by conservative commentator Ann Coulter. In that article, which was recently reviewed and responded to by Dr. Albert Mohler, Coulter referred to Christian Missionaries that serve in areas like Liberia as 'Narcissistic Idiots'.
