URGENT! Don't Forget To remember. Jude 5-7It pays to remember! To forget to remember can be very costly. It has been wisely said, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. We are not to live in the past, but we are to look to the past and learn from the past, so that we don't lose in the present and lack for the future. Jude is encouraging his readers to learn the past. He begins by saying, I want to remind you; though you once knew this…v.5a. he is saying to these readers and us, Don't forget to remember. There are some lessons we can learn from what happened yesterday, that will help us enjoy today and secure tomorrow. Jude uses three examples for his reminders, each deals with how apostates turn from God, and How God Judges them when they do. Here are the three things that Jude is telling us to do in order to contend for the faith. 1. Don't let anyone get between you and Jesus.2. Don't let anything get between you and Spiritual Discipline.3. Don't let anything get between you and a Life of Mercy. You don't let them pull you down, instead, you carefully pick them up. Jude is saying that every person you know deserves your mercy. You don't condescend to anyone. Instead, you give everyone you meet a hand up. The Christian life is a life of mercy. It defines how God relates to you, and it must define how you relate to others.
