The foundation of our faith can never be moved. God's omnipotence cannot be challenged, the Word of God cannot be overturned, and the work of Christ cannot lose its power.
Society is fragile, and with David in the midst of persecution, Psalm 11 contains two perspectives: the voice of unbelief and the voice of faith.
In this dialogue, David's timid friends encourage him to flee and escape from the kingship that the Lord has appointed him to, yet in verses 4 - 7, there is a response of trust and faith in God. David acknowledges that the Christian walk will include persecution and difficulty, but we have a sovereign Lord who reigns over all things for the good of His people.
