Everybody must one day die - it is universal. When the journey of life ends, we must enter through the door of eternity, and we will either enjoy eternal bliss in heaven or eternal anguish in hell.
Christ warns about the worst kind of death - to 'die in your sin'. When our life ends, if we have an unrenewed heart and a mountain of sinful debt before God, we will be forever shut out of heaven.
The death of Christ was unique. It opened a way back to God from the dark paths of sin. Have we understood the message of the gospel, believed it is true, and then cast ourselves upon Christ, venturing upon Him in faith? This is the only way to eternal life.
This message contains a solemn warning but also points us to the great hope we can find in Jesus Christ.
