In Daniel 3, the Bible tells us about a famous story within the community of believers where the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar issued a tyrannical demand to everyone in his nation to worship a 36-cubit-high, 6-cubit-wide golden image he had made. The image is set up in the plain of Dura in Babylon, and people from all nations and languages fall down and worship it. Except three Hebrews namely Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Determined to only worship God, Yahweh; they were thrown into a fiery furnace after refusing as a punishment of not worshiping that golden image.
Such determination on the three brothers' side expresses a bold commitment in the Lord. No wonder that we all ask ourselves how we could decide in a similar setting. We may have not met the fiery furnace but have been in an alike or almost similar challenges-what a moment to pause and reflect on how it was handled by us or by God?
