The family at Bethany that Jesus visited more than once consisted of three very different people, even though they were siblings. Jesus was a friend to all three of these people, and we are told that He loved them all, despite the difference in their character and service. We are all as different in soul, as in body. God made no two just alike, and He does not make anew any two just alike. Variety in character and personality is what gives life flavor and joy, and it is what makes everything work, too. What a boring, dreary life it would be if we were all just alike! There is a need for all of the different characters in life, and in the work of God.
