Jesus Christ is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
I encourage you to remember this truth as we as a nation make our way through our election season. This was something that Israel forgot as they moved through the promised land. The Bible tells us that in those days, there was no king "in" Israel and everyone did what was right in their own eyes. While there was no king in Israel among them, there was a King over and above them. Our morning sermon in Judges 21 calls us to look at Israel and to look at ourselves.
Are we looking for a king in America, when we already have one in Jesus Christ? Are we doing what is right in our own eyes? Will the people on earth in the year 2099 say, "In those days, there was no king and everyone did what was right in their own eyes?"
