In this sermon we continue our series on defending marriage. We began in Psalm 2 as we remember that God is able to defend Himself against those who attack Him and His reign on earth. We then saw how He defined marriage from the beginning in Genesis 2:18-23. No one has a right to redefine what He has established. Then we considered how we defend marriage by following God’s directives for marriage given in Genesis 2:24. Two weeks ago we did an overview of the ways we can defend marriage by strengthening and protecting our own marriages in the gospel. In this sermon we will look at Ephesians 5:25ff which describes how husbands can defend their marriages by loving their wives in a Christlike way.
Even if you are not married, this sermon will apply to you because much of our attention will be given to considering Christ’s love for us which is always a delightful and edifying experience.
