The sixth seal was broken and the sign of the Son of Man appeared in the sky as He began to come in power and great glory (Matthew 24:30). But before the breaking of the seventh seal and the harming of the earth by the four angels, 144,000 of God's Jewish bond-servants will be clearly marked on their foreheads, so that they will not be harmed. Also a great multitude of believers, which no man will be able to count, will be standing before the throne and the Lamb giving God the credit for their salvation. All of the angels will worship God, and one of the elders will explain to John who this multitude is that was snatched up into the air by Christ, coming out of the great tribulation.
