Every man is born dead in trespasses and sins, and, if he dies in that state, he will never enter the kingdom of God, he will never even see the kingdom. By nature, he is under the wrath of God, and must be born again, he must be made new, he must be regenerated. And regeneration is the secret, supernatural and sovereign work of the Holy Spirit. Only God can give the sinner a new (spiritual) heart, a new mind, a new disposition, a new will. |
