God is the owner of all things; we are mere stewards of His property. In the end, everyone will have to give an account of what he has done with what God has given. We should use our money for what God wants us to use His money for. God's purpose is to glorify God. Ours is to glorify Him as well. We should pray to God and ask Him what He wants us to do with His money.
Jesus is the man of noble birth. He received His crown at His resurrection, and He will come back. Until then, we should persevere, and be patient, diligent, and prudent stewards.
Jesus is extremely generous. He gives His faithful servants much. Why are we so foolish to not invest in such great dividends? If we are using God's possessions wisely, He will give us more in order that we may give more.
We should ask these questions from John Wesley before we spend: 1. In spending God's money am I acting as if I owned it or am I acting as the Lord's trustee? 2. What scripture passages require me to spend this money this way? 3. Can I offer up this purchase as a sacrifice to the Lord? 4. Will God reward me for this expenditure at the resurrection of the just?
As well, we should ask these questions of our faithfulness as stewards: 1. What has God entrusted me with? 2. Why has He entrusted me with it? 3. For the glory of God and the furtherance of His kingdom what spending habits do I need to change so I can give more to the advance for the gospel, starting today? 4. What excuses for not giving need to be let go of today?
Finally, let us resolve by faith in God's promises and for the glory of His name to seek to become a better steward of God's resources including His money, starting today.
