It doesn't take long for the enemy to capture our attention, and too often the mind will blindly follow these desires that are placed before us into the paths of compromise and disobedience. Satan will us common everyday normal occurrences to get us off track. At the beginning of our Christian lives, Christ has saved our souls from eternity. The Holy Spirit moves into the temple of our heart. But all around the heart is the courts of the temple, all those areas of our lives that need to be filled with the things of God. Alliances can be formed that fill those areas however with the wrong things. Just as Tobiah was able to move into a store room of the temple satan will get into our lives to cause disruption. How? Because we will make accommodations for him. Instead of setting ourselves apart for God; bringing in the things we need to grow spiritually speaking we will let the room sit empty with a for rent sign up. And satan will jump at the chance to have a guest room. We loose our ability to praise God from the heart, the desire to keep clean tends to fall by the way side, and we regulate the Holy Ghost to a broom closet in our lives. There is however something we can do when this happens to us. We can do as Nehemiah did and get angry with the sin; and not just get angry but do something about it. Get those sins confessed and begin to replenish the portions that God has for us for our hearts. Read those Bibles, study those Sunday school lessons take in every word God's man is preaching, and stop just going through the motions. And when we do this we will see satan kicked out of his guest room in our lives and the blessings of the Lord flow once again.
