This old preacher was one of the Baptist Pioneers in a renewed emphasis on THE SOVEREIGN GRACE OF GOD — he once wrote:
"If God saved you in light of His consideration of something in you, no matter how small, it could not be grace! No amount of immorality can hinder God in His work of grace, and no amount of morality can commend one's self to God. If one sin or one thousand of them can hinder a soul in the reception of grace, it ceases to be grace. If any amount of morality can commend one to God, it ceases to be grace." — A. D. Muse
Dr. Muse died in December, after having spoken at the first Sovereign Grace Bible Conference in Ashland KY — the year was 1954.
Muse preached with T. T. Martin in his earlier days, later was a pastor and evangelist who became a beacon of encouragement to younger men who loved and preached the Gospel of God's Sovereign Grace: Rolfe Barnard, A. Reilly Copeland, Henry Mahan, B. B. Caldwell, E. W. Johnson, Ferrell Griswold, George B. Fletcher, N. B. Magruder, E. W. Parks, L. R. Shelton, and others (including your SermonAudio ROLFE BARNARD LIBRARY hosts — LGH & WWF). |
