Following the instructions from the Lord (verses 1-20), Moses now turns to the elders of Israel who do what they are told.
It is in this passage that we meet 'the destroyer', who appears in numerous other places including 1 Chronicles 21 and Revelation 9.
Moses establishes the purpose of the specific instructions given--teaching the CHILDREN about the event of Passover, thus passing on the truth of the event to future generations. And so, to this day, observant Jews and Messianic Jewish believers observe the Passover Seder in fulfillment of this established practice.
