Spiritual building and/or rebuilding can be an ardous task for the Christian. And whether or not the project is building a corporate church ministry or restoring and rebuilding an individual life, Nehemiah provides a model for us of a faithful, godly master builder.
Many important principles can be extracted from this important Old Testament record. Nehemiah was a man after God's own heart. He developed a deep and heavy burden for his people in Israel and he wept over the distruction of the walls.
But Nehemiah was a man of action as well as deep compassion. His immediate response upon receiving the tragic news stands as a model for all who face a monumental project -- he fasted and prayed.
His prayers would last 4 months before he was allowed to return to Jerusalem to undertake what would prove to be task plagued by severe opposition without and troubling dissension within. Yet through it all Nehemiah remained faithful to the work of rebuilding, entrusting himself to a holy, omnipotent God.
Join us as we examine the record of this godly giant of the faith and learn for yourself the many spiritual principles that will guide you in the ministry work the Lord is calling to.
