What are you giving to Jesus, is a question of conviction and quality. In this passage Jesus was dealing with this one individual and only she knew what she was giving, the rest just assumed that they knew what she was giving. A sacrifice to the Lord should cost us something if the Lord means more to us, for her that was the case. It doesn't matter what anybody says about your sacrifice to the Lord, it is only between you and Him no matter how much they see of it. The problem for a lot of us though is that we care too much about what everyone else thinks about us.
