On more than one occasion scripture shows us their flaws. Thank God He reveals to us all the flaws in the Bible. It keeps these examples from being super human and thus impossible for us to reach. These flaws show they are human being just like us. They were pacesetters or leaders. They fell, but they were also able to get right. There was the pessimist who always saw only the downside. But Jesus showed Himself to help his unbelief. The pragmatic was there as always trying to figure how God fits into his box, but God doesn’t fit into any box. Of course we see the passionate with their quick tempers and strong emotions. These didn’t just exist back then, they are the present. Each of us has these traits to some degree and God wants to use us.
