Throughout these chapters the Apostle Matthew is showing us who Jesus is by demonstrating His Divine authority both in His word and works. The stilling of the storm on the Sea of Galilee is marvelous in this regard. Jesus' disciples knew the authority of His preaching, as well as His authority over sickness and even over demons. They were now about to discover His authority extended even over all of creation. This sleepy, exhausted man whom both wind and sea listen to is both the Son of Man and the eternal Son of God!
