The Hacker or the Hero?Judges 7:1-25 God has confirmed His power and call with Gideon in performing the miracles of the fleece. Gideon has tested the Lord three times. Now God is about to test him a second and third time. He is about to get rid of dead weight by pruning His people. . Attacking at night concealed the true number in Gideon's army. The darkness inspired the fear of the unknown. Usually when an army attacked at night, only a few men carried torches and horns for the entire battalion. When the Midianites see and hear the horns and torches, they assume these are battalions of soldiers attacking. They begin killing one another in a frantic panic. The Midianites flee for their lives and what is so funny is no one is chasing them at this point. They were bluffed and bamboozled on the battlefield. Israel was still standing on the hill and gave chase only after they started fleeing. This incident illustrates the truth of the Midianites were reaping what they had sown. From the Hacker to the Hero.
