The author of the Book of Hebrews often uses Exposition followed by Exhortation. The first two verses of Chapter 12 is a classic example. We see four necessary factors in running the good race: Inspiration, Preparation, Determination and Motivation. Pastor Tony addresses the first three factors in today's teaching. Starting the Christian life (the "race") is important. It is those, by God's Grace, who endure to the end are welcomed into the Kingdom by Christ Himself telling us "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
The first point, our "inspiration," comes from the iconic Old Testament figures - that "cloud of witnesses" who testify of God's faithfulness. Preparation is laying aside weights as well as the sin which so easily besets us. Our determination, with God's help, permits us finish well.
Listen and learn the importance of "preparation" and "determination" to finish well and then join us next week to learn about the importance of our motivation to "run the race."
