This book is written to help those who do not have a clear understanding of water baptism and its relation to the Bible doctrine of the 'remission of sins.' More specifically it is written to refute the doctrinal heresy called 'baptismal regeneration,' which teaches that in order to be saved, one 'must' be baptized. In other words, the teaching that a sinner cannot be saved by faith alone. This peculiar heresy is characteristic of the so-called Church of Christ and United Pentecostal sects as well as the Roman Catholic church. Our method of study is to 'search the scriptures' (John 5:39; Acts 17:11), thereby 'comparing spiritual things with spiritual' (ICorinthians 2:13).
