Well, this is now the third message in The Holiness of God series in answering the question 'why certain people were not allowed into the assembly of the Lord in the Old Testament?' and 'why certain people were not allowed to come near the alter or allowed to officiate in the temple?' and I told you that my initial answer when first asked the question was 'because God is holy', and everything about Him is holy, everything about His surroundings must be holy. In the first message we briefly looked at holiness and why God is holy. In the last message we looked at how and why the tabernacle in the Old Testament was to be holy, of how it is a shadow of the heavenly, and how it not only depicted the dwelling place of God but was the dwelling place of God here on earth. We also looked at the priests and the sacrifices, and why they were to be holy, and this was because they depict the Christ, as our High Priest entering the heavenly tabernacle and as the perfect Lamb of God that was sacrificed for the atonement of our sins.
