Walking by the flesh only brings death (separation), but walking by the Spirit always brings life (satisfaction). This relationship requires daily SURRENDER because we are the sons of God - descendants who have been born into God's family. We are totally dependent, not fearing in a spirit of slavery, but trusting our Father in a spirit of adoption. Our STATUS testifies that we are children of God, and as children our titles give us the position as heirs of God and fellow-heirs with Christ. But the path to receiving this position is one of suffering.
