Rev. Douglas Kuiper Daniel 10 Edgerton PRC, 07/03/16 PM A. Christ taught us that wars and rumors of wars would characterize history, and be a sign of His return. This thought has been central in the book of Daniel. B. This thought continues in the last vision recorded in the book. Daniel: God’s Antithetical, Indestructible, Triumphant Kingdom (13) Attacked and Preserved in the Spirit Realm I. The War Waged. A. God’s messenger tells Daniel that the war between the kingdom of God and the kingdoms of men is fought in the spirit realm, among devils and angels, as well as on earth. B. This insight into the war in the spirit realm is instructive for us. II. The War Won. A. Daniel has prophesied of the triumph of God’s kingdom as manifest on earth; we learn of its triumph also in the battles in the spirit realm. B. This part of the text looks forward to the victory Christ has accomplished by His death on the cross, and will accomplish fully when He returns. III. The War Revealed. A. But why did God reveal to Daniel about this war in the spirit realm? B. And why must we know it?
