"Today, we come to the end of the series of sermons on the trinitarian nature of our salvation. In particular, we will see the activity of the Holy Spirit and His part in applying the election and adoption decreed by the Father. We will also see His part in applying the redemption that is ours through the death and resurrection of our Savior. The biblical (and confessional) word often used to describe the activity of the Holy Spirit is: Sealing. There is much confusion today regarding the person and work of the Holy Spirit, so our task today is to examine what God Himself says concerning the Holy Spirit and that means that we will look to various portions of God's Word. At every point in our doctrine of salvation and any other doctrine, we must rely upon what God says, not what humans think. To simply import the doctrines and assumptions of the world is mere "self-imposed religion" (Colossians 2:23) and unworthy of the followers of Jesus Christ. – Pastor Schlegel
