As we celebrate our country's birthday, many Americans, as grateful as we are to live in this land of freedom and opportunity, are aware that in some critical areas, America seems to have lost her way. In fact, Christians can see some striking parallels between modern America and Israel and Judah before they were taken captive centuries ago. Perhaps no passage of Scripture speaks to our nation more directly than Jeremiah 2. It is a powerful warning of impending judgement, and a call to national repentance.
CORRECTION: Of the many quotes that are used in this message, we have learned that three are unconfirmed. David Barton of WallBuilders, whose book "The Myth of Separation" was used as a resource for this message, now reports that he has been unable to find them in original sources. The quotes are the first two cited in the sermon, from James Madison, John Quincy Adams, and one cited a few minutes later from Alexis DeToqueville. Although those particular quotes are unconfirmed, they are not out of character with confirmed quotations from these men. They may be paraphrases drawn from their writings. I am sorry for including them. The jury will please disregard the testimony of those three witnesses.

Revealing Sermon! I heard this message one year ago and today it has even greater meaning about how much our nation has fallen. Every year God is rejected and prohibited from being made public. Just look at all the natural disasters and violence happening more each day -- we are seeing God's judgment and do nothing about it.

One of the best sermons I've ever heard! This message from 2007 around the 4th of July, is still relevant, if not even more so, this Independence Day in the year of our Lord 2015. Crisply delivered. Thank you for this sound preaching which has never been nmore timely.

Outstanding Sermon! To realize how much worse and more atheistic our nation has become in only 8 years since this sermon was preached, it is frightening to see each year getting worse than the previous. Unless revival happens soon, True Christianity will be stripped of any meaning for our people and nation. I foresee the Holy Bible being criticized as a hateful book and offensive to our culture and will have laws preventing from being part of our church liberties. The Rapture is the only possible solution to True Christians who have Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. America's best days have long past and the only future we have is in the Holy Scriptures. Pray and study the Holy Bible more each day for your soul's peace.

Great Sermon! I'm going through a rough time in which I feel like the bible has no relevance. It seems that some things written in the bible are straight forward and people just add a but as they have a mind to justify their position. I've been searching for someone to basically say that god knows what he was doing when he wrote the bible, that he know we would have a hard time following his rules but that's a part of life and i thing you just did that for me (in some kind of way). One thing though the title might need changing "Christians" misinterpreting the bible is a big problem not in America but in the world.

Great Sermon! We are on vacation this week but stopped this morning to listen to this sermon. Thank God for the truth! God has blessed America and providentially raised our country up for His purposes. May God have mercy on us for what we have collectively become as a nation.

Jeremiahs words to America today! Outstanding message on bringing the words of Jeremiah, and how they relate to America today. This is a right-on message, needed from every pulpit in America.

Great Sermon! Outstanding sermon, the historical data shared is much needed information by every American. The comparison of our nation to Israel is striking and true to the Scriptures!
