In March 2016, I was privileged to be the speaker at the Grace Bible Church Spring Conference, Olive Branch, Mississippi, where I addressed the subject of ‘Redemption History Through Covenants’. It occurred to me at the time that my four sessions might be turned into a short book on what I, as a new-covenant theologian,1 see as the biblical view of the history of redemption through covenants, a book which might introduce this very important topic to some who have not considered it. A little later, I was further moved in this direction by my good friend, Paul A.Kaiser, who wrote to me suggesting that one of the recorded addresses he had heard would make a suitable publication. Even before that, the very warm reception I received at Olive Branch encouraged me much at the time, and I hope that those who heard the original addresses may find this volume a happy reminder of that occasion.2 More, I hope it will prove useful in the spread of the truth of the gospel. For, make no mistake, that is what we are talking about |
