We have been calling Romans 4 the Abraham chapter! Paul’s focus has been on Abraham’s faith. Specifically, Paul wants to demonstrate that whether Old Testament or New Testament, God has always rewarded a man’s faith. Abraham’s faith was tested by circumstances but remained focused on God’s character and thus was rewarded by God’s grace. This morning we will see that the life of Abraham gives three insights into why God loves faith: 1. God loves faith because faith makes sense with grace. 2. God loves faith because faith relies on who God is. And 3. God loves faith because faith simply accepts God’s promises.
