This sermon explores the event, meaning and result of the Triumphant entry into the city of Jerusalem by the Lord Jesus Christ. While it was a historical presentation of the Holy atoning Sacrifice, given by God in behalf of all those who would be saved, even those who were foreordained of old to be the recipients of salvation, it was also a public declaration of Christ's Universal Lordship.
This Lordship was not conferred upon Christ at His birth nor upon His arrival into Jerusalem nor was it given at any time or in time whatsoever. The Lordship of Christ existed from all eternity, having no beginning and no end. His Lordship was one that was possessed before, during and after His birth, life and death. Although He is proclaimed King in time and in the confines of history, it must be understood that He was never without His Holy Crown. He was always King. Thus, He is the everlasting eternal King, the Sovereign Lord and Only Potentate.
