After hearing about the mixed multitude that went with the Israelites out of Egypt, God gave regulations for how the nation was to deal with others among them in relation to keeping the ordinance of the Passover. Every male that was bought for money had to be circumcised and then they could partake of the Passover. Someone who dwelt among them, but wasn't joined to them, even if they were working for them, could not eat it. All of the congregation of Israel had to keep it, but someone who comes among them could choose to eat it, if all the males in his household were circumcised. The basic law of the Passover was that no uncircumcised person shall eat of it. God then stated to Moses a principle that was first applied to the Passover, but later we find out should apply to all laws. There is to be one law for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you. This is an important concept that we need to remember today as there are riots in multiple places because of the charge that in America there are two laws. To the extent that is true, we should recognize it is evil.
