The fundamental reason is because of Yahweh"s "hesed," the Hebrew word for "steadfast, covenant love. " In addition, Yahweh's deliverance, perfections, justice, and kindness bolstered David's love for his God who loved him first. As recipients of sovereign love and grace, we too have ample reason to have devoted love for Yahweh our God.
