A heart warming sermon In order for something to be deemed precious to us, it must be ours!
Christ then is precious only to those who are His people; those whom the Father gave to His Son
(John 6:39)
These only can truly appreciate His inestimable value. These only can rightly regard Him as
God's unspeakable gift; (2 Cor. 9:15)
those only who have been given the unsearchable riches of Christ, who is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. (Eph. 3:8; 1 Cor. 1:30)
For we who are but poor and needy sinners have not been redeemed with corruptible things like unto gold and silver, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:18-19)
For us Christ bore our sins, our guilt, our shame, our reproach in His own body to His accursed tree.
(1 Peter 2:24)
For us He poured out His soul unto death ( Is. 53:12) that he might deliver our souls from the lowest Hell. (Ps. 86:13)
For us He suffered, bled, and died to pay for our sins. (Is. 53:4-5; Rom. 6:23)
For us He “tasted death”that He might deliver us from the power of the grave.
(Heb. 2:9; 1 Cor. 15:55-57)
For us He made the ultimate sacrifice of laying His life down for His friends.
(John 15:13-15)

A heart warming sermon By way of a postscript . .
To us He has given eternal life . . immortality and the glories that await us in Heaven. (John 10:28-29: John 17:2)
What a blessing to be one upon whom God has commended his love and bestowed the exceeding riches of His grace in Christ, who has made us “rich toward God. (Rom. 5:8; Eph. 1:3-7)
When we die we leave our worldly possessions and valuables behind, but those who have Christ are quite willing to do so, that they might be with Him, who is that which is most precious to us . . even that “pearl of great price.” (Matt. 13:46; 1 Thess. 4:16-17)
“ . . . . Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Col. 1:27)
Christ is precious only to those who know Him as I do . . by the grace of God . . as their blessed Saviour and Redeemer God.
How good it is to be able sing with all my heart the sublime words of this hymn . .
Peace like a river is flooding my soul,
Since Christ, my Saviour, maketh me whole;
Sweet peace abiding my portion shall be;
Jesus, my Saviour, is precious to me.
How good it is to know Him as that which is most precious of all . . for He is the “one thing needful”
Thank you Pastor Pickett for once again preaching Christ in all His fullness and exalting our most precious Saviour God.
