It is a common weakness among Christians to underestimate the importance of, misunderstand or even neglect prayer. We lose heart as we do not know what to pray for, or know God's will, yet God commands us to pray without ceasing. Christians can take heart in the fact that men like Job, Elijah, Peter and even the Lord Jesus Christ struggled in prayer. Though we often look for a great outcome as a result of our prayers, it is ultimately perseverance in prayer that is the mark of victory. As men, in our weakness, we would not pray, but thankfully the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness and makes intercession according to the will of God on our behalf.

Great Sermon! Thank you Pastor Bill for such a wonderful view of how difficult prayer can be and that we are not alone in this. I pray this will encourage others to keep on praying and not to feel inferior in this part of their Christian walk.
