We cling to that which we love and look to for deliverance. God commands us to cling to Him. Clinging speaks of an intimate attachment of our hearts to something or someone. Indwelling sin is still a real struggle for a believer but God is pleased to use the very sin that still cleaves to us to lovingly pressure us into intimate and permanent communion with Himself. He is able to use our battles, our struggles, our temptations, our weaknesses, our fears, our afflictions and even our failures to cause us to hold more tightly onto Him. We may feel weak in the battle but that very weakness may be the means by which we cling more tightly to Christ.
