To quote Optimus Prime from transformers, "There is more than meets the eye."
So too is there more in this world than meets the eye.
In fact, Satan's greatest warriors, the Beast and the Woman who rides it, are a mystery, and unless they are revealed by Christ, they are unknown and unseen.
The beast is the persecuting power, whether formal or informal, that seeks to usurp Christ's power and willfully strikes down all who stand against it. This Beast was first revealed in Revelation 13 as the image of Satan.
This Beast is where the angel begins to unveil the mystery because the Beast is the foundation for the woman.
This is why there is a call for wisdom. It takes the wisdom of God to understand this Beast.
There is a difference in the Angel's words from vs.1 and vs.7. In verse 1 the angel "shows" something to John. In verse 7 the angel "tells" something to John.
When we make sense of this world by what we see, we are setting ourselves up for the fall. When we make sense of the world by what God says, we end up in praise and worship.
