Jude's quoting from First Enoch is not an endorsement of apocryphal eschatological literature as some assert. Nor does it legitimize gnostic or allegorical interpretive methodologies as others assert. At best it is simply a sermon illustration from popular literature of his day. However, I believe it is a ringing indictment against the methodologies of False Teachers using their own incoherent teachings against them. Hence, even their own literature testifies that Christ will interject Himself into history to come back and judge them for their ungodly words and works.
