In this passage, Nebuchadnezzar is warned by Daniel that angels are going to drive him from among men and cause him to eat grass like an ox. He tries to advise him how to delay the judgment by turning from his sin and being just to the poor. The long-suffering God waits a whole year before pouring out His judgment on Nebuchadnezzar. When Nebuchadnezzar declares his great work in creating Babylon to glorify himself, God speaks to Nebuchadnezzar. He tells him directly that the kingdom is taken away and he will eat grass like an ox and that very hour, he was driven from men and became like an animal. When God says, "pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before the fall," be warned and remember Nebuchadnezzar.
