For the last couple of weeks we have been looking at this passage in 1 Timothy. This is Paul’s charge to Timothy to help him set up a church that will stand the tests of time. Paul knew that there were those in the church and those trying to get into the church that would bring in false doctrine. He has been pointing Timothy to the first need of the church, the need to pray. We have a God who hates sin and calls out to men to repent. Pray for them. He then reminds Timothy that there is only one God and one way to come to Him. Finally he concludes by telling Timothy that this was also what He had been appointed and called to do. Today I want to look at this part of the text: Paul’s call to preach the Gospel.
