Let’s look at these 4 sections and draw a lesson each from them, the Lord helping us.
First, there are statutes concerning sexual seduction (v. 16-17).
Secondly, there are statutes concerning abominable practices (v. 18-20).
Thirdly, there are statutes concerning the care of the poor and needy (v. 21-27).
Fourthly, there are some miscellaneous statutes concerning holy behaviour.
We have learned some lessons from each set of statutes. But overall, what can we take home from this passage? Well, let me suggest that the simple lesson that we must take from this passage is that as those redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, we must be pure in relationships, biblical in practice, compassionate in heart and holy in social responsibilities.
Believers, in other words, must stand out from the rest of the world. We are the citizens of the Kingdom of Christ since Christ redeemed us by His precious blood.
