The strength of a marriage to a large extent will be the strength of character in the young man and woman in the courtship. It will be dependent upon the strength of relationships that existed between the woman and her brothers and father.
Two worldviews, two ways of life are presented in this message.
The egalitarian, existentialist, fornicating world of self, with its broken relationships, broken marriages, and self-centered brothers and sisters. It is the world where easy women manipulate, and men beat on their women, abandon them, and fail to protect and provide for them. Men and women compete, and pleasure is turned to perversion because nothing is Coram Deo.
Then there is the life of self-sacrificing love and faithful submission, where men and women complement one another, and where unity and community trumps independence and the Lonely World of the Vagabond. It is where Purity, Beauty, Dignity, and Honor stand behind a wall. It is where Love overwhelms, and where Love is jealous, sealed, and impregnable to attack.
One world is the Devil’s, and the other is God’s. |
