Today, my desires is to express the heart of God through the prophet Joel. What are you resting in other than the Lord? Are you trusting in your money or possessions? Paul charged Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:17 to teach, “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;” Are you trusting in your skills or talents? Paul wrote to the Corinthians saying, “For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?”(1 Corinthians 4:7). Are you trusting in your health? Ecclesiatstes 12:1-7 reminds us of the fraility of our bodies. Are you trusting in your intellect, thinking ability, and power? God caused the most powerful man on earth, King Nebuchadnezzar, to go mad. Is your ultimate trust in your family? We could ask Job where his trust was on the dreadful day when he got the news of the tragedy about his children. Today, I want us to get to the heart of the matter. |
