This morning we consider another measure of our growth in sanctification, which is our willingness to suffer for the sake of the gospel. The central point of our text is related to sanctification and suffering. Decide that you are willing to suffer for righteousness. Make a clear break with sin by being willing to suffer for the sake of the gospel. And from our text this morning we will consider three reasons or encouragements that we be wiling to suffer for righteousness. First from verses 1-2, we are called to be like Christ and live with great purpose. Second from verses 3-4, we are to confess that we have spent enough time in past sins. And third from verses 5-6, we are to rest in the judgment and vindication of God.
