THE SOMETHING MORE LIFE Jesus promised his followers a life of abundance in everything that matters: love, joy, peace, fulfillment, meaning and purpose. But today the lives of many believers come up lacking. He promised something more; many Christians are experiencing something less. Where did we go wrong? We are called to live — and have been promised in Christ — a something more life. When you read the gospels, you never see Jesus promising us just enough to get by. Instead, he promises his followers an abundance of everything, that we will be overflowing with joy beyond our circumstances, and love beyond reason, and peace that passes understanding. He promises that we will not just have surface-level relationships with a few casual acquaintances — but that we will have a personal connection to brothers and sisters and like-minded friends everywhere we go. And even though this life is hard — and Jesus never tried to pretend that it isn't — we can experience an abundance of all that really matters every day of our lives. That's why Jesus said... I I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance. (John 10:10)
