In this chapter, we learn the reality of what Christ's sacrifice accomplished - what all the animal sacrifices of the Old Testament could never accomplish. Christ's blood established a new covenant that does away with the old covenant and its' ongoing sacrifices. Christ's sacrifice offered a single sacrifice for sin, once for all. Christians have been given full assurance of the validity of their faith and confidence to come to God by the blood of Jesus.
There is also a warning to those who know the truth but go on deliberately sinning. In doing so, they trample the Son of God, profane the blood of the covenant and outrage the Spirit of grace. "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God". So once you know the truth, don't shrink back or lose confidence. God is faithful.
