So who is the real Jesus?
“And the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God”.
It can’t get any clearer that the JESUS is God!
Paul declared this in a few of his writings.
(2Cor 5:19) God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself,
(1Tim 3:16) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh.
(Col 2:9) in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Now these verse leaves no room for anyone to try to explain away that Jesus is
God. In every way shape and form John declares that Jesus is the One and only
creator God!
John knew how significant and important it was for people to know that Jesus is
God. That is why he starts this gospel by revealing who Jesus is, and not only does he start with it but it’s all throughout the gospel.
When we change, remove, or add to who Jesus is, and His role of mediator, of
redeemer, of savior, we take the life out of the gospel, and we are left with a false hope! |
